Buddenhagen started out her career in book posting in New York and worked as an editor at the Book-of-the-Month Team. She's since worked as a marketing specialist, a journalist, and then for 10 years dished up on the panel of the Boston Branch of the English-Speaking Union (a business devoted to improving global communication through the English language). She gained an MFA in Fiction from Vermont College. Earlier stories have been released in Emrys Journal and Scrivener Creative Review. Ploughshares, the literary journal of Emerson College.
