Little Lord Fauntleroy is the first children's novel written by British playwright and creator Frances Hodgson Burnett. It was originally publicized as a serial in the St. Nicholas Newspaper between November 1885 and Oct 1886, then as a e book by Scribner's in 1886. The accompanying illustrations by Reginald Birch establish fashion developments and "Little Lord Fauntleroy" also establish a precedent in copyright rules when in 1888 its creator triumphed in a lawsuit against E. V. Seebohm in the privileges to theatrical adaptations of the work.
