It is clarified what discursive knowledge is and how exactly we acquire it, and some age-old skeptical views are shown to be incoherent. It is shown that knowledge is to some extent inferential. At the same time, it is shown that we now have three quite distinct senses in which empirical knowledge can be inferential. It is proved that we have a priori knowledge, and also that knowledge of non-empirical truths is needed to acquire empirical knowledge. Finally, it is obviously described what prediction is, what reason is, how the two differ, and exactly how these are similar.
