Carol Anne would always fear the night because she knew when she laid her head down on her cushion her nightmares would suffocate her as she squeezed her doll. Every night just shortly after midnight she would scream out for her mommy, however the screams would soon go unnoticed since when her mom would come in and check up on her she would find nothing wrong. To make things worse she experienced no bedroom door so anything she observed at her door would only inflame the situation. Every morning she sat with her mom at the kitchen desk reliving her nightmares again and again hoping her mom would consider what she was informing her is not really a fantasy. Finally, her mom said, "Unless you stop this nonsense you are going to obtain the spanking of your life." Tears flowed down Carol Anne's cheeks as she said, "Mommy, don't be concerned when day comes I will not be seated at the breakfast time table pleading with you to trust what I say is true."
