Where is it possible to find a cookie jar in the form of a baseball filled up with the ashes of the 84-year-old Chinese girl or a cardboard take-out carton with the remains of an 350-pound, agoraphobic pot-dealer? The Columbarium is the background for peering into the eccentric lives of some of the deceased, as well by folks they left behind. Jed, a Jonestown survivor, takes a job renovating the columbarium and finally comes to conditions with his former and his own subconscious demons. When the columbarium is vandalized, the mourners and Jed music group together to protect the remembrances of their loved ones, and in the process, they understand that belonging and hooking up to others is what gives life so this means. A house for the deceased becomes a location for celebrating life.
