"The Sky Is Slipping" is a technology fiction common: Computer engineer Dave Hansen is carried from Globe to a world reminiscent of Old Egypt, where the rules of technology and physics are changed by the rules of magic. Hanson was summoned to help save the world's sky from collapsing. The sky is a literal dome that arches above the world, with sunlight and superstars not considerable celestial systems trillions of a long way away, but smaller signals that move about within the dome of the sky.
