Within this thriller, an investigative reporter and a clandestine agent interact to thwart a diabolical plan using ELF waves to take over the world. His sister Terri, an investigative reporter from Chicago, occurs in Marquette, Michigan, to begin looking at his death. She is sure something is not right; she's no idea how correct she is. Terri learns that Kevin was researching the consequences of extremely low occurrence waves - also called ELF waves - on people and the surroundings. Also, she discovers that the Navy was examining ways to talk to its submarines using ELF. But Kevin's research uncovers that ELF waves can affect people's minds, causing unconventional and violent action. In the mean time, Terri encounters Clayton Wolfe, a secret agent with a secret past who clubs up with her and the neighborhood coroner and sheriff to investigate Kevin's loss of life. Terri and Clayton feel drawn to each other, but as ELF-induced violence begins to happen all around them, they need to race contrary to the clock to get the culprits before they become subjects as well.
