This short work clearly claims just what a formal vocabulary is and it therefore right answers questions of fundamental importance about vocabulary in general. It is established that the concept of a perfectly formal vocabulary is incoherent but that the concept of a comparatively formal vocabulary is coherent. The third edition consists of a section where it is discussed what it is to formalize a technological discipline, and a section where it is said under what circumstances a given language L can be described as relatively formal (i.e. as more formal than some other language L*).
