Montague Rhodes Adam (1862-1936), who published as M. R. Adam, was an British author, medieval scholar, and provost of King's College or university, Cambridge, and of Eton College or university. He is best known for his excellent ghost stories. Adam reinvented the ghost history for the present day audience by moving away from Gothic elements and using sensible contemporary settings. His protagonists and plots often reflected his own antiquarian hobbies. 'A School Storyline' can be an intriguing ghost story set in a private institution near London. Throughout a lessons one of the kids locates himself writing a odd word in Latin which he himself cannot properly make clear. When the tutor reads it, he becomes pale and appears to become all of the sudden very ill. A week roughly later, again during class, another even more secret Latin message looks...and then incidents turn very odd and sinister indeed.
