Bertrand Russell was a English philosopher, logician, mathematician, historian, copy writer, social critic, and Nobel Laureate. At various items in his life he considered himself a liberal, a socialist, and a pacifist. He was born in Monmouthshire into one of the very most prominent aristocratic individuals in the United Kingdom. In The Problems of Viewpoint, written in 1912, Russell attempts to create a quick and accessible guide to the problems of philosophy. Concentrating on problems he believes will provoke positive and constructive conversation, Russell concentrates on knowledge rather than metaphysics. He courses the listener through his famous 1910 differentiation between "knowledge by acquaintance and knowledge by explanation" and introduces important theories of Plato, Aristotle, Descartes, Hume, Locke, Kant, Hegel yet others to lay the foundation for philosophical inquiry by basic listeners and scholars alike.
