There will be the "dark ones", a few of the children of the city, who have the powers of the wildlife of the forest. People conversation of the river demon Piasa, a drinking water wraith corrupting everything it touches. And they talk about someone or something that dwells in the Indian burial mound. He or it is mystical and powerful, an immigrant like them from the Celtic lands beyond the ocean, but the town is aware of that existence to be good, holding off that creeping bad. The people seem to be to feel that Conor Archer is some savior in a approaching battle between good and wicked.
