Download The Jokes of Nasreddin Hodja: The World Is Not a Tragedy, But a Comedy AudioBook Free
Nasreddin is a 13th-century satirical Sufi, a populist philosopher and wise man, appreciated for his funny stories and anecdotes. He is, indeed, an extremely serious joker who demonstrates the entire world is a cosmic joke, who illustrates that the entire world is not really a tragedy, but a humor - the entire world is a place where if you can understand how to giggle, s/he has learned all. If one's prayer cannot become a deep laughter that comes from around his/her being, if his/her prayer is miserable, if s/he cannot joke with his/her god, then s/he is not truly religious. Nasreddin appears in a large number of stories - sometimes witty, sometimes wise, but often, too, a fool or the butt of a joke. He tends to be illogical yet rational, logical yet irrational, bizarre yet normal, and simple yet profoundly wise. Each of his stories sees him in a different situation, and through his viewpoint, it humorously clarifies and demonstrates to us on various designs of life. The fantastic allure of his stories is that they are funny as well as educational and thought provoking, they package with ideas which may have relevance to even the modern world and people, and they deal with fundamental human dynamics - public injustice, the privileges of the upper classes, selfishness among the common people, foibles and incompetence, ignorance and narrow-mindedness of most kinds, and so on. Among a large number of his folktales/stories/jokes, we've accumulated 200 great ones in this e book.
