In 1885, Rose Victoria Areas lives with her parents and four sisters on Thunder Ranch in the Arizona Territory, right beyond your gates of Fort Huachuca - the regimental headquarters of the united states Military Fourth Cavalry. Unlike her four sisters, who think little or nothing of dressing in guys' clothes while driving and focusing on their father's equine ranch and are known to everyone because of their outrageous ways, Rose Victoria tries to always present herself as a perfect female known on her behalf womanly graces. It's become Rose's goal in life to become the wife of any US Army officer where, she seems, her manners and her love of volunteering and service will be useful. But her plan starts to come crashing down when she and her sister Lavender are helped in a desert thunderstorm by Stephen Bell, a good looking man with the manners and speech of any gentleman. She is convinced he must be an officer and is for certain he'd be an excellent man on her behalf - until she learns that he is nothing of the type, and indeed is merely a newly enlisted private. Rose will have to make a decision whether to have a chance upon this good man, and becomes decided to learn the mystery of his background.
