Metaphysical bible students understand in the Gospel of John a certain spiritual quality that is not found in the other Gospels. Although this is not true of most bible readers, it could be said that those who look for the mystical find it in the vocabulary of this reserve. The reserve is distinctive in this admiration which is so successful in setting forth metaphysical truths that little interpretation is essential. Only in a few instances does the original writing conceal the profound truths that the college student looks for to discern. Written language reaches best a representation of inner ideas, and even though a teacher lovers ideas and words as adroitly as Jesus will, elucidation is sometimes difficult. Nevertheless ideas are getting, and this will be the best reason for publishing another reserve about this spirit-arousing Fourth Gospel. We are all heavily billed with ideas, and when these ideas are released they spring and coil forth and move from mind to mind, being recorded as they soar, and when they are really expressed the complete race is raised up - if the theory is billed with the uplifting Nature. Jesus was God's notion of man-made express in the flesh; so He was warranted in making that vibrant assertion, "easily be raised up from the earth, will pull all men unto myself." Nowhere in every literature has this truth of the unity of God, man, and creation been so fearlessly expressed and affirmed by man as with the Booklet of John. Here the question develops as to God's responsibility for many that looks in the flesh, both good and bad, which seems to confound our reasoning and understanding.
