The day is similar to every other day until it becomes YOUR DAY. At 4:05 pm the United States is attacked with an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapon. A 20-megaton nuclear warhead is detonated high in the atmosphere above Kansas, blanketing most of the contiguous USA and parts of Canada and Mexico with an electromagnetic pulse that damage nearly all microprocessors and electronic digital controls beyond repair. Just about any system that is determined by computers and electronics has ceased to work. The electro-mechanical grid goes down. This particular system goes down. The sewer system goes down. The telephone system goes down. The cellular system goes down. Cars stop. Tractors stop. Radio and TV channels go dark. The Internet is no more. Forget about ambulance services. Forget about emergency services. Forget about government services. Forget about 911. Inside the twinkle of eyesight, America is sent back deep into the 19th century. Jill Barnes, an individual mom, discovers herself stranded on the side of Interstate 459 near Birmingham, Alabama. Jack Chance, a loan company vice chief executive, is stranded on Interstate 85 near Montgomery, Alabama. John Carter, a service provider, discovers himself stranded near Leeds, Alabama. Each has another type of mind-set and level of preparedness. Follow them as they make their decisions and journey home to Clarke State in rural Southwest Alabama. Author's word: That is a new performance of the modified version of booklet one. It has been revised to reveal a first-person viewpoint for every single chapter's main persona. Take note of which persona leads in the chapter title. This is not a booklet on religious beliefs or spiritual ideology; however, two of the key characters are Religious. They pray often and recognize God's influence upon the events occurring. If you find praying, acknowledging God, or seeing Jesus' name used in a positive framework offensive, i quickly suggest you do not listen to this book.
