After an arduous overland journey, Levi Scott and his child John found its way to Oregon City in November 1844. Scott became a member of the Jesse Applegate's 1846 expedition seeking an improved, safer way through the Cascades to the Willamette Valley. Their new southern road wound through the Umpqua Valley, three pile ranges, and the Dark Rock and roll Desert before getting together with the founded California Path. Applegate recruited emigrants even though others went in advance to prepare the street, Scott led the initial wagon train western. He details a harrowing trip. Retracing the trail in 1847 and 1849, he again faced slim escapes and fatal encounters with Local People in the usa. Edited and thoroughly annotated, Scott's unpublished autobiography is becoming Wagons to the Willamette. An exceptional contribution to Oregon Path history, it is the only first-hand accounts written by someone who not only sought out the southern road but also followed its first wagon coach. The e book is released by Washington Express University Press.
