Not many can say they were burned by destiny. I'm the exception. Scalded figuratively, psychologically, and physically...I've the scars working down my arm, ribs, and aspect to establish it. The doctors did what they can to mend me by smoothing the abraded epidermis using other areas of my body. But they can only just do so much. Sometimes, what can't be seen can't be healed. The flame that night required greater than a pound of flesh. It obliterated my talent, beauty, & most importantly, seared the connection I put with the man I cherished. Sure, it was me who pressed him away, but I put my reasons. I did so what any female would do in my situation. I quit everything so that 1 day he'd find contentment and peace. Now I've healed a lttle bit externally, and inside, but I still desire the main one I let go. To this day he talks about me with flame in his eye, a heat so smart in his being he glows with it. I dread the light, the flames that can consume me complete. The problem now is, he's not mine any longer. I simply may have waited too much time to deal with for him, for all of us, for a future together. There's only one thing I could do. Let destiny decide.
