The author is a veteran in every sense of the term, even though he was only age 21 when the conflict finished. Armin Scheiderbauer served as an infantry official with the 252nd Infantry Department, German military, and found four many years of bitter fight on the Eastern Entrance, being wounded six times. This is an outstanding personal memoir, written with great thoughtfulness and integrity. Scheiderbauer became a member of his unit during the winter of 1941-42 and, during the following years, found fierce fight in many of the largest battles on the Eastern Entrance. His experiences of the 1943-45 period are especially noteworthy, including his recollections of the considerable Soviet offensives of warmer summer months 1944 and January 1945. Participating in the bitter battles in East Prussia, he was captured by the Soviets and not released until 1947. Adventures in my own Youngsters is a distinctive memoir - the writer originally had written it only for his little girl. It hasn't been published in any language until now.
