If you are amid a relationship with the narcissist, you know all too well how speedily he cycles through the various state governments of his personality. One minute he's the nice, lovely, radiant personality. Another minute, he's a raging monster of assault. The fairytale that he decorated in his dream world where he's the center of everyone's attention is eventually stared in the facial skin. She needs him to expand up and become a genuine man now. This is usually when they get committed or when they have children together. He must draw his own weight and endure his own obligations. This impressive man-child detests and resents anything that smells of work. And therefore the abuse commences. That's where the raging routine of maltreatment rears its unsightly mind in the narcissist and codependent relationship. The narcissist will continue to take things away from the codependent in his life. He will ensure that her profession or job is a tragedy. He will do whatever it is that he can in order to avoid her from time for college. He could even shut off the web at home to avoid her from earning money because of this, too. The only path for the narcissist to have his life is to have total and complete control of those who are around him. The individuals who are healthy and also have normal boundaries don't give the chronically unhappy narcissist even a smidge of their time.
