Alan won an Oscar, BAFTA, and Eddie honor for All That Jazz. He was also nominated for an Oscar for Network. Alan started his editing job on Sidney Lumet's The Seagull and went on to cut Lenny, Wild hair, American Record X, The Notebook, and many more. He spent some time working with Mel Brooks, Milos Forman, George Roy Hill, Nick Cassavetes, Martha Coolidge, John Hughes, and Stephen Frears.He is presently President of American Movie theater Editors (A.C.E) and the manufacturer of The Reducing Egde: The Story of Cinema Editing and enhancing.
