Leading door is wedged shut. As the Stevens work to free the door, loud cracking sounds associated with the landslide awakens another citizen outside. She races to accumulate her two small kids and works out in to the yard. Finally the Stevens are able to break through the wedged door and get away from. They watch in horror as properties commence to collapse along the road.
