Nian is 'found out' as a boy with special capabilities, and whisked away to be an apprentice inside your home of Real truth. He immediately resolves to escape - but there's only one way he is able to think of to get out, and that's to figure out how to fly. Sadly his capabilities are rather hard to control, and the procedure involves a certain amount of banging his at once the roof...Then he sees a place where in fact the boundaries between your worlds are slim, and he stumbles into our world. There he meets Jacob, who helps him as he discovers to speak the dialect and to start to come to grips with the funny practices of people in this world, and to start to see how he might find a place here. But the home of Real truth send someone to hunt him down and fetch him back again, and the equilibrium of the worlds begins to break down. Nian knows he will have to return - but first he will have to save his pursuer, who's causing mayhem wherever he moves, and on the way help Jacob and his family through some challenging situations. On his go back to the home of Truth he will use his new activities and knowledge to improve the way of life there forever.
