In 1939, just prior to the beginning of World War II, the US Lighthouse Service was merged with america Coast Guard. After the start of the war, a small group of previous lighthouse technicians were instrumental in completing a Top Magic formula mission to build up, along with M.I.T's Rays Lab, a brand new technology that would radically improve a dispatch or plane's ability to find their way with exactness, called LORAN (Long Range Navigation). This technology is basically acknowledged with turning the tides of struggle, and supporting secure an Allied success. This audiobook is a walk, with commentary, through the military documents (from 1938 through 1965) of one of the key former-Lighthouse Service technicians included, Captain Ellis S. Gordon, who was stationed in Alaska from 1943...and was instrumental in producing and activating Loran all over the map, and in particular in the Aleutians.
