About Fox's E book of Martyrs By John Foxe
The Actes and Monuments, popularly known as Foxe's E book of Martyrs, is a work of Protestant record and martyrology by John Foxe, first released in British in 1563 by John Day. It offers a polemical account of the sufferings of Protestants under the Catholic Chapel, with particular focus on England and Scotland. The publication was highly important in those countries, and helped form long lasting popular notions of Catholicism there. The publication experienced four editions in Foxe's life span and lots of later editions and abridgements, including some that specifically reduced the text to a E book of Martyrs.
