Excerpt: ...Mexican troops approaching toward our camp to assault us. Fight of White Hill The chief of the Nedni Apaches, Whoa, was with me and commanded one department. The warriors were all marched toward the Pg 100 troops and fulfilled them at a location about five kilometers from our camp. We revealed ourselves to the troops and they quickly rode to the very best of a hill and dismounted, positioning their horses externally for breastworks. It was a circular hill, very steep and rocky, and there was no timber on its attributes. There have been two companies of Mexican cavalry, and we'd about sixty warriors. We crept up the hill behind the stones, and they retained up a frequent fire, but I needed cautioned our warriors not to expose themselves to the Mexicans. I recognized that the troopers would squander their ammunition. Soon we'd killed almost all their horses, however the soldiers would rest behind these and blast at us. While we'd killed several Mexicans, we'd not yet lost a man. However, it was impossible to get very close to them in this manner, and I deemed it best to lead a demand against them. We had been fighting since about one o'clock, and about the middle of the Pg 101 day, since we were making no further progress, I offered the indication for the advance. The war-whoop sounded and we leaped forward from every stone within the Mexicans' lifeless horses, fighting palm to hand. The episode was so abrupt that the Mexicans, operating first this way and then that, became so perplexed that in a few minutes we had killed all of them. Then we scalped the slain, carried away our lifeless, and anchored all the arms we needed. That night we moved our camp eastward through the Sierra Madre Mountains into Chihuahua.
