What exactly are you doing right now? What do you smell? What do you tastes? Touch the object nearest you. What do you feel?' My students smile. I really know what they are experiencing. These are playing parts in a mental performance. Initially, they are astonished by what they are imagining, but soon they are engrossed. Some may be walking through Washington's corridors of vitality. Another is climbing an Alpine rock face. Another is ranking in the Shanghai Stock Exchange. After 5 minutes or so, I turn up the lights and have how they feel. These are energized, emotional, influenced."
