With Childe Harold's Pilgrimage, cantos III and IV, Byron involves the high point of his work and also to clear and particular mastery of his art as a poet. He spends this previous portion of his pilgrimage in that special place, that realm of the nature and the soul, where what counts is the best achievements of art. Out of that place is his poem made.
