An address shipped in the Broadway Tabernacle, NY, Feb 14, 1854 William Lloyd Garrison (1805-79) was a visible United States abolitionist, journalist, and cultural reformer. He is best known as the editor of the radical abolitionist newspapers The Liberator and as one of the founders of the North american Anti-Slavery World. When he was 25, he signed up with the Abolition movement. For a brief time, he became associated with the American Colonization World, a business that presumed free blacks should immigrate to a territory on the western world coastline of Africa. Even though some participants of the modern culture encouraged granting liberty to slaves, the majority noticed the relocation as a means to reduce the number of free blacks in america and thus help protect the establishment of slavery. He ended the run of The Liberator at the end of 1865, and in-may of that calendar year announced that he would resign the Presidency of the North american Anti-Slavery World and proposed a resolution to declare triumph in the have difficulty against slavery and dissolve the World. After the abolition of slavery in america, Garrison continued focusing on other reform moves, especially temperance and women's suffrage.
