Poring through the Archives, he got only imperfect information: his parents, found dead in a bandit camp, have been two of a number of hostages, a few of whom possessed survived. The survivors possessed told the Safeguard that Mags' parents spoke a language that no person understood or known. This information didn't help, for the ForeSeers have been having visions of the king's assassination by "one of the overseas blood". Some possessed even Seen Mags with blood vessels on his hands. How could Mags defend himself against a crime that hadn't yet been dedicated?
