HONORÉ DE BALZAC (1799-1850), was created in Travels, France, educated at the Collège de Vendôme, and examined law at the Sorbonne. His father wished him to become attorney at law, but he remaining Travels in 1819 to seek his lot of money as an publisher in Paris. He wrote eighty-five novels in twenty years, but his life was one of recurrent privation. In 1850, he wedded Madame Hanska, a abundant Polish sweetheart with whom he had corresponded for more than fifteen years but got only just satisfied personally. Five months later, Balzac passed away in Paris.
