"The Men in the Storm" is a warm account by Stephen Crane, relating to the challenges of homeless men contrary to the cold, the elements, and hunger, while trying to keep a certain level of real human dignity and optimism. "The Men in the Storm" follows the storms and makes of characteristics Crane uses so well in "The Blue Hotel" and "The Start Boat". This account deserves to be right up there with the top three. The men are wandering throughout the day and must seek break for the night time. They line up, forcing and shoving, to find yourself in the mysterious place for friendliness and comfort. A policeman joins them and somewhat gently keeps the peace as the men hang on to be let in when the door opens for the night time. When it finally opens, the men drive and shove until, at the previous moment, they are about to enter in and each one regains a dignity, instant of self-worth, and enjoyment.
