These lectures here provided were provided in NY during the winter of 1921. The purpose of this series was to present with their auditors the testimony of research regarding the relation of subject and of awareness; to permit the hearers to observe the identical manifestation of the relations and of certain basic laws and regulations in successively higher states of being, and therefore to bring to them a realization of the universality of the evolutionary process and its actuality; and also to deal slightly with the type of the broadened states of awareness and the enlarged life toward which all mankind is journeying. They thus were designed to serve as an launch to the more detailed study and request of the laws and regulations of life and real human enfoldment generally included in the term of "occultism." It will be observed that there surely is in this series a great deal of repetition, as each lecture briefly reviews the issues protected in the preceding addresses. As newcomers were present at each lecture in the series, it was found necessary on each occasion to present a bird's attention view of the ground covered and the reasons for the position then taken. A further advantage was found in the correcting in the imagination of the hearers of certain of the basic concepts which were new to most of them, and which helped to permit them to understand and to get immediately the further enlargement of the theme. In presenting the lectures in publication form it has been deemed recommended to wthhold the complete content material of the lectures as given. Those who are already students of the esoteric wisdom can follow the type of the discussion of the lectures without difficulty. For those however, who for the first time approach the thought of the issues here discussed, the casual repetition of the fundamental points may help to a ready apprehension, and it is for this course of readers that the publication is primarily meant.
