Carl von Clausewitz was a Prussian soldier and German armed forces theorist who pressured the moral and politics aspects of war. This recording is the unabridged words of the first two books of Clausewitz's massive three level treatise On Conflict. Reserve 1 is "The Nature of Conflict" and Reserve 2 is "The Theory of Conflict." These first two books of the three level set support the substance of Clausewitz's thought. They contain many famous quotes such as "War is nothing but the continuation of insurance plan with other means." A lot of all of those other work was still left in an unfinished point out when Clausewitz perished but these two books are still widely read today and, along with "The Artwork of Conflict," are required readings in armed forces classrooms around the world. The translation is by Colonel J.J. Graham. Matching to critic Christopher Bassford, "Clausewitz's magnum opus, ON Battle, is unquestionably the main single work ever written on the subject of warfare." The Chronicle of Higher Education said in 2011, "On Conflict is becoming something of your common, often cited, reviewed in numerous recent books, observed in the business of Sun Tzu's Artwork of Conflict (thought to be circa fourth hundred years BC), and studied in armed forces academies. On Conflict appeals to anyone who wants to see how an over-all thinks, also to all who guess that warcraft pertains to an office, company, college, or team. Clausewitz himself likened war with commerce and alliances with 'a business offer.' With protracted wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, North american and British visitors have found On Conflict to be a touchstone for conversations about techniques, strategy, war aims, and explanations of 'win.'"
