It is the autumn of 1945 and identical twins Enjoyment and Gillian Lawrence are on the way home to Liverpool, having been evacuated to Devonshire five years earlier. Their mother has been wiped out in the blitz however the girls wish that using their favorite father's help they will be able to take care of.
