Please note: This is an evaluation and overview of Meditations and not the original booklet. The Roman Empire had many highs and lows throughout its lifetime, but none rivaled the next Century AD. It was a time of relative peacefulness and prosperity. During this time period, there were five emperors, often called the "Five Good Emperors." The final of the emperors was Marcus Aurelius. Marcus Aurelius is most known for his philosophical musings, especially one brand of philosophical thought called stoicism. This viewpoint has just as much application nowadays as it performed in his age. Marcus put his philosophical musings to newspaper; this work is now famously known as the Meditations.
