Bernard Manning was created in 1930 of Russian Jewish and Irish descent. He offered in the next World Conflict. At one stage, soon after the conflict, he was stationed at Spandau Jail Berlin, where he guarded the likes of Rudolph Hess. His show business career started out in the 1950's as a singer, before gradually bringing out comedy in to his function. He first emerged to a wider people in the 1970's in Tv set programs such as 'The Comedians' and 'The Wheeltappers and Shunters Community Club'. Pushing the restrictions of comedy beyond the norm, his humour was liked and disliked in equal measure. He swore and used mature vocabulary, which, be warned, appears on these recordings! It's reasonable to say that his humour is considered very un-pc nowadays, but he always maintained that he was never targeted anyone specifically and his subject material was dispersed to anyone and everyone. He started out and appeared for many years at his own team, The Embassy in Manchester, where some of this materials was saved. He passed away in 2007.
