From 1892 to 1895, Chopin had written short stories for both children and adults which were publicized in such journals as Atlantic Monthly, Vogue, The Hundred years Newspaper, and The Youth's Partner. Her major works were two short story collections, Bayou Folk (1894) and A Evening in Acadie (1897). Her important short stories included "Desiree's Baby", an account of miscegenation in antebellum Louisiana (publicized in 1893), "THE STORYLINE of an Hour" (1894), and "The Storm "(1898).
