From 1892 to 1895, Kate Chopin wrote short testimonies for both children and men and women, which were shared in such periodicals as Atlantic Monthly, Vogue, The Century Magazine, and The Youth's Friend. The folks in her testimonies are usually inhabitants of Louisiana and much of her writing is set in Natchitoches in north central Louisiana. Her major works were two short story choices, Bayou Folk (1894) and A Evening in Acadie (1897). Within ten years of her fatality, Chopin was more popular as one of the leading authors of her time.
