It's not too late to discover the lost gospel of Jesus and start to live by it, to improve our course, to once again become folks of the way. We're able to, with humility, embody compassion and justice. We're able to so completely trust God that we dare to share what we have with those in need, love those who hate us, bless those who curse us. What's been lost are available again. Do we dare? Can we listen to the call evidently and become so moved we should reply? If we sense that something profound and treasured has been lost, we can do something positive about it. It's like a treasure which has been lost, long since buried in a field. All we have to do is go and sell all we have and buy the field. My goal with this intentionally simple, slim volume (based on scholarship, however, not bogged down by notes and references) is to attempt to remove that which has obscured, covered, and even changed Jesus and his radical revolution, extricating him from the stiflingly thin religious context that but silences him so his concept can reverberate around us, resonate within us. There may be hope. This may happen. If Jesus shows us anything, it is that which was once deceased can live again, that which was lost are available.
