Moonroy, founded by Peter's dad, a French Huguenot and one-time pirate, had not been one of the grand river plantations of South Carolina, but it was a prosperous one. Peter was an early signer under Gadsden's Liberty Tree and, like a lot of his friends, arrived to realize that reason and law wouldn't normally change England's insurance policies. Change would come only through warfare. His four children acquired grown into young adults and there have been changes on the slave block by the warfare broke out. In South Carolina it started out June 28, 1776, when British warships attacked Charles Town, the first of three problems between 1776 and 1780 that improved everyone's life.
