Secrets, sits, and dreadful deeds have been going swimming Burdensville for a long time. During a train ride across the country, Scott decides to visit a tiny cafe for lunchtime over a layover, in the small town of Burdensville. But he ends up going to for longer than he ever expected, when Scott encounters a drunk man hoping to hit with an unwilling waitress in the diner. Scott tries to step in and protect her, but Sheriff Darby winds up putting him in jail for his good deed. Soon, it becomes apparent that the people of Burdensville have more problems than they can shake a keep at. Passers-through are receiving killed one at a time, and there appears to be no real research into the killings at all. But as Scott sits and waits to be seen by the judge he begins to figure out that we now have many things being stored under wraps in the creepy burg, and the ones things are just the beginning. The city and most of its people are hauling around secrets, and Scott is stuck right in the center of the mysterious problem. But it doesn't take him long to learn just how incorrect things are for the reason that town. With just a little help from local waitress Denise Jensen, they soon patch together a horrifying real truth that will persuade have much worse repercussions than either of these could ever consider.
