Gunnora Silverhair, the Eldil princess of Carvaldor, flees the castle after she overhears her father arranging her marriage to Hugh the Horrible, the local ogre. Ragon comes back to Diamante, where Vildor's sorcerer, Mord, creates a spell that imprisons Ragon within a giant ruby. They intend for Ragon to stay a prisoner permanently because only dragon magic can free Ragon. Nory and her dragon friends must find Ragon and free him, or he will stay within the ruby permanently.
