John Hand visits the Heron house buying summer time job. What he detects is a family in mourning. A few momemts after he's employed by Mrs. Heron and her child, Virginia, a neighbor, Buddy, detects Mr. Heron lying down deceased in the orchard, choked to loss of life by asthma and bee stings. As Buddy comforts the grieving family, John seems out of place.
