This unabridged novel is a period mystery/adventure set in 1948. A couple of 50 chapters, written in a fast-paced, easy style, liberally laced with love-making, assault, nostalgia and good laughter. It is a satire of the time with flashbacks and a lttle bit of period chauvinism. It's written in the first person (a cliche of videos of that time period), in descriptive, visual terms. The three lead heroes are Canadian Anthony Wayne, American Tommy Sanderson, and Scotish Steve Hughs. On the retirement from militariy intellect, after WWII, Tony has convinced these gentle giants to join him within an advertising agency back Montreal. Tony fulfills Catherine Rothschild, beautiful and sophistocated, together with Susan and Jim Taylor. There's a murder of course. Jim, a company consumer and Tony's good friend, is available poisoned after having a social gathering at the Taylor mansion. Susan, a seductive honey-blonde, has overcome a morally weak Tony Wayne and heavy guilt above the affair leaves him enthusiastic about getting justice. The social gathering guests, international and incongruous, will be the suspects. On a trail of hints, our investigative trio uncovers a Nazi museum-treasure rip-off, that leads them to many adventures in many lands. The story advances around a love, then confrontation, a reunion in Havana, a medication raid in Argentina, a wild get together with a mafia don in Napoli, then another murder in Geneva. and a Princely get together in Monte Carlo - that almost ends our hero's life.... Gleam finishing twist or two in the plot. It's a terrific way to shorten an extended trip.
