Is Shakespeare Dead? is a short, semi-autobiographical work by American humorist Samuel Clemens, better known as Draw Twain. It explores the controversy within the authorship of the Shakespearean literary canon via satire, anecdote, and comprehensive quotation of modern day authors on the subject. The original publication spans only 150 web pages, and the formatting leaves about half of every web page blank. The backbone is thread bound. It was posted in April of 1909 by Harper & Brothers, a year before Draw Twain's fatality. In the book, Clemens clearly expresses his thoughts and opinions that Shakespeare of Stratford had not been the writer of the canon, and lends tentative support to the Baconians. The book starts with a scene from his early adulthood, where he was trained to be a steamboat pilot by an elder who often argued with him within the controversy. (Offer from wikipedia.org)
