Life in the Kingdom of Mavinor was always lived relating to "The Scrolls", a couple of holy documents compiled by men but thought to be inspired by a deity known as "THE WRITER". When the people of Mavinor were attacked by the army of a neighboring kingdom (Xamnon), every duplicate of The Scrolls was damaged in the battle. Despite countless time of labor, the task of reproducing them continued to be far from complete, and their culture slowly but surely started to unravel. King Onestus, childless and incredibly ill, sees his kingdom crumbling before his very sight but seems helpless to change the tendency. In his darkest hour, he receives a sign...a breakthrough in The Scrolls achieved by the scribes. Thinking it to be authentic, Onestus announces that he'll assemble a group of 13 men to undertake a prophesied quest to come back a sacred medallion to the kingdom. The quest will ultimately determine his successor, the one whom THE WRITER has chosen to rule Mavinor and lead it back again to prosperity. The Quest of the Thirteen is the storyline of how a select band of completely different men learn to work together: experienced warriors, a scholar, a wealthy man, a fisherman, young men aspiring to make something of themselves...all tossed together against practically impossible chances. They cross solid terrain, struggle mythical animals, and experience death-defying travels as their world expands further and additional beyond the boundaries they once knew. Despite countless external threats, in the end it's the internal conflict they need to master to be able to attain their goal and save Mavinor. Dr. John DeFilippis was created on March 9, 1970 in Bayonne, NJ. He was raised in the Greenville portion of Jersey City, graduating from Our Sweetheart of Mercy Sentence structure College in 1984. In 1988 he graduated with high honors from Saint Peter's Prep and continued to review at Rutgers College or university in New Brunswick, NJ. after gaining his Bachelor of Knowledge degree, Dr. DeFilippis went to the institution of Theology at Seton Hall School for three years, from 1993 to 1996. During this time period he attained his master's degree in theology and discerned a call to the Catholic priesthood. After eventually deciding that he didn't have a religious vocation, Dr. DeFilippis transitioned in to the field of education. He trained for four years at both the elementary and extra levels, and attained a second master's degree in educational administration. In 2000 Dr. DeFilippis made just one more transition, this time around receiving an offer to become an educational administrator at Saint Peter's College or university in Jersey City. He'd spend the next seven years there, and in 2007 he completed his PhD in educational leadership at Seton Hall School. After finishing his doctoral degree, he accepted an offer to become a director in the Division of Academic Affairs at NJ City University.
