This short history by Stephen Crane and narrated by Glenn Hascall portrays a veteran of the Civil Warfare associated with his grandson in a supermarket where in fact the veteran admits that yes he was frightened when in battle. The grandson is disappointed that his grandfather would confess he was frightened, but of course the grandson cannot - nor can anyone who has not observed it - completely appreciate the horror of this field. But later on the grandfather shows that although he seems fear he is a hero.
