The Little Method of Ruthie Leming follows Fishing rod Dreher, a Philadelphia journalist, back to his hometown of St. Francisville, Louisiana (pop. 1,700) in the wake of his young sister Ruthie's fatality. When she was diagnosed at era 40 with a virulent form of cancers this year 2010, Dreher was shifted incidentally the community he had left out rallied around his dying sister, a schoolteacher. He was also struck by the elegance and courage with which his sister handled the disease that eventually required her life. In Louisiana for Ruthie's funeral in the fall of 2011, Dreher started out to wonder if the regular life Ruthie led in their country town is at fact a journey of hidden grandeur, even religious greatness, hidden within the modest life of the mother and teacher.
