Martin Donisthorpe Armstrong (Oct 2, 1882 - Feb 24, 1974) was an English copy writer and poet, known for his experiences. He was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and informed at Charterhouse and Pembroke College, Cambridge. He dished up in World Conflict I in the Uk Military in France - an exclusive in the Painters' Rifles, he was commissioned into the Middlesex Regiment in 1915 and advertised Lieutenant in 1916. He was included in the last Georgian Poetry anthology. He committed in 1929 Canadian copy writer Jessie McDonald after she had divorced Conrad Aiken, making Armstrong the stepfather of the young Joan Aiken. He shows up in disguised form as a figure in Conrad Aiken's Ushant.
