Norman Richard Collins (1907 - 1982) was born in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. In his early on career he functioned in posting while also writing and submitting several successful books. In 1941 Collins began working at the BBC. During this time he became known for his ground breaking programming which included Woman's Hour which still airs today on BBC Radio Four. He increased to Controller of the BBC Tv set Service, later giving to co-found what's now ITV after deciding a rival to the BBC's monopoly was needed. Collins continuing to create fiction throughout his active working life. Although never a full-time writer he was a fluent and prolific publisher with sixteen game titles and two takes on to his credit between 1934 and 1981. An autograph model of twelve of his books was published during the 1960s.
